It is worth clarifying first of all what hemp is:
Hemp and marijuana are products of the cannabis plant, which have opposite functions and effects on the human organism. Hemp products are known to relieve pain, help soothe ailments and various problems of the human body both external and internal, while marijuana products are rich in THC and therefore have a powerful psychotic effect on the mind.
ADVANTAGES OF HEMP in general and of textile products in particular:
Hemp is one of the most ecological fabrics in the world. Its cultivation does not require chemicals, controls soil erosion and produces oxygen. It is a renewable resource that can be grown in as little as 100 days and is the most versatile fiber in the world as well as being biodegradable.
Its tensile strength is eight times higher than that of cotton, which explains its historical use in sails and ropes for sails all over the world. Hemp is in fact an exceptionally resistant and long-lived fabric.
The hemp fabric is hypoallergenic and non-irritating to the skin. It is able to kill the staphylococcus and other bacteria that come into contact with its surface. It is considered to all intents and purposes anti-microbial.
Hemp clothing in contact with the skin can give the feeling of flannel, although it may seem a little stiff and scratchy, it becomes progressively softer after a few washes.
Hemp is insulating and protects from the heat, because it is very breathable, and also from the cold as it is thermo-regulating. It naturally resists mold and readily absorbs moisture, it also protects from the sun thanks to its reflective qualities against UV rays.
The cultivation of hemp does not require pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers: it grows rapidly attracting few parasites, with a density of 150 plants per square meter and reaches a height of 2-5 meters. It produces 250% more textile fibers than cotton and 600% more than linen (with the same land used). The strong roots of hemp build and preserve subsoil structures leaving the soil in excellent condition for any subsequent crop, not depleting the soil, rather, adding organic matter and moisture.
The reasons why PARRAMATTA offers hemp garments are therefore clear: sustainability, refinement, naturalness, historical origins, rarity. A special product for special customers!
