ENGLISH LAMBSWOOL 100X100 SERIES.
Our lambswool is made in England by Z. HINCHLIFFE & SONS. In the vicinity of the city of BRADFORD known for the most exclusive area of production of knitting yarns.
HINCHLIFFE & SONS has been active for over 250 years having been founded in 1766 and has always specialized in the production of high-end yarns offering them with unique colors thanks to the refined and ancient processing technique.
In this way we only use lamb's wool from Australia and South Africa.
Merinos have been specially bred to produce the softest and finest wool.
Our lambswool is therefore obtained exclusively with the wool of the first shearing of the animal.
Lamb's wool can be recycled, is compostable and biodegradable, leaving no harmful effects on the environment.
For quality reasons, all fibers are dyed before they enter the spinning process which can then be gentler on the fiber, meaning the finished product will be softer.
The applied technology also allows dyeing at lower temperatures which in turn improve both the final fiber and the environment.
The color department then assembles the mixture for mixing. The colors produced can be melange or plain.
Once dyed, the bales reach the carding machines. During carding the fibers are aligned as they pass over a multitude of meticulously wired and recorded rolls.
All the reels produced by carding enter the spinning department passing on modern clogs that allow to obtain a rounder yarn that avoids damaging the fibers and preserves the soft hand.
After spinning, the thread passes on small turns and must be wound on larger cones and freed from any imperfections. The thread is wound through detectors that identify any variations in thickness or contamination of colored fibers which, if found, are extracted and the thread re-sewn into the perfect shape. Once this process is completed, the yarn is destined to be twisted in the twisting department.
In the production process, quality control, among other things, checks color fastness, yarn uniformity, yarn resistance, title changes and shade variations.
All that contributes to producing a high quality wool garment, obtained with the first shearing of the lamb and with extremely rigorous industrial and artisanal processes as the result of an incredible history and experience.
Even the shades of color and the wonderful color variations that can be obtained are the result of the applied technique that also allows the garment to constantly improve the hand and softness over time with the use itself.
This is how our lambswool items are produced, which complete the offer of quality knitwear under the PARRAMATTA brand in gauges 7 and 5 and therefore in intermediate and high weights.
